[[ HUDSON LINE RAILROAD. ]]
The front of this notebook features one of my TTV photographs of the autumn view from a MetroNorth train along the Hudson River line.
TTV stands for "through the viewfinder," in this case, that of a vintage, square format camera. This gives the images a retro feel and a variance in focus that isn't common to straightforward digtal photography.
- 6.25" x 6.25" (16 cm x 16 cm) - 200 pages. - Bound with turquoise blue waxed Irish linen thread.

I finally finished my first quilt! I am totally addicted to bargello quilts now!!
I mailed it yesterday to my boyfriend’s (boyfriend of 8 years, so more significant than “boyfriend”) mom – it is an early Christmas gift! She just bought a house and it was designed to go in the living room on her new loveseat. We wanted to send it early so she can enjoy it as it gets cold (she lives in Montana) as well as beat her to the punch so she doesn’t buy blankets for the living room ^_^
I can’t wait to see what she thinks of it! I am 99.9% certain she has nothing to do with LJ, however, that is why I have this under lock. I’ll unlock it for the world to see when she gets it in a few days, but I was just too excited about it not to share!
It is 67” X 67” finished. I know, it doesn’t LOOK square, but it is. It has cotton batting and is very warm! Enjoy! ( See my first quilt!! )

I did a search online and found several tutorials on t-shirt quilts but I seem to recall the community had a post on it and wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, I can't find it! Does anyone have any experience doing this? I've never sewn or quilted before so I will need to borrow my sister-in-law's machine. I originally wanted to do this for Christmas but I don't know if I'll be done in time. Instead, I will gift it for him for his birthday.

Who is the gift for? My uncle (my mom's family draws names every year and we make a present for the name we drew...I got this one this year. >.<) What is the occasion? Christmas List at least three of their interests: Ummm, crap. I know he likes sushi a lot (my aunt and him go out for it a lot and have tried making it at home.) He likes to drink, he likes to cook (and he's good at it), and he's a machanic (I cant spell. >.<) and he loves Nascar/Huskers/some video games (but keep in mind he is in his 40s) Any stipulations or things to avoid (i.e., has to be something small, or they already have enough scarves, etc.): Well, it has to fit in a fairly small house so nothing big. No clocks, no decorative stuff (unless its for the kitchen...but then again it has to be functional and smaller.) What kind of crafting do you do? Pretty much anything. What I CANT do: Knit or any other yarn projects. Anything else is fair game. Name some other crafts that you would be willing to try: Pretty much anything, I love crafting except for yarn projects like knitting Do you have a price range for materials? I have next to no money until early Dec. so either a gift that is pretty quick to make or something EXTREMELY cheap. I have less then $40 to live on in general right now. So no money for crafts... Do you have a time limit to make this present? I have to be finished with it the week before Christmas Any other information you'd like to include: It has to be 'homemade'. But I was thinking flavored vodka (like making the flavored part), or homemade BBQ sauce with some other homemade sauces or jars (and etching the glass with things...), or trying to find sushi dipping platters and painting them (I have no idea where I would start to look for this one).
Any ideas? Im drawing a complete blank and its driving me crazy. Thanks!

I want to show you guys what I made my sister for Christmas, but she's on this community. However, she hates ruining surprises for herself so I feel that I can post them as long as I say,
JOHNNA, DON'T LOOK HERE!!

Hi guys, I've been watching this community for about a year and I finally have something worth posting! I help out with an Australian bands promo by posting flyers and generally spreading the word about them, but despite my best efforts I'm always left with a ton of flyers. After joking many a times I would vandalize their tour van with the excess flyers I decided to do something constructive...
( A gift that will speak to the musically inclined... [3 big pics under the cut] )

I made these for my room when I finally re-do it. Haha. Its Alice and the White Rabbit. Im doing a center one with the quote "Curiouser and Curiouser" (haven't finished it or found a font I love). Im going to tie a ribbon bow (probably yellow or gold) on top. Once Im done and they are hung up...I might make a Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat...maybe even the Mad Hatter?

Tutorial: Well, these were extremely simple. I went to Wal-mart and bought 97 cent wood plaques, then painted them white. I found the images I wanted to design off of online and used them as referance as I free handed the figures. The plaques had staired edges (the edges were lower then the face of the plaque) and I used that to paint the edge black and frame them.

If you know anyone who is insane over books, they might like something like this book clock to stand on top of a shelf. :) Just make sure they're not one of those obsessive people who will scream "HOW COULD YOU HURT A BOOK?!"

I am looking for a pattern that I can use to make a stuffed plush animal. : ) If anyone can find anything that I can mod to make it look like a tiger, or is very similar to something that looks like such, that'd be awesome!
Thanks so much!
